The Application Process

Our application system requires that each applicant have an email address. If you do not have an email address you can go to yahoo, hotmail, or Google to create an email account. For assistance call 801-581-2169.
When you submit your application, you will receive an email confirmation. If you do not receive the confirmation, it means that your application has not been submitted and you will need to go back and finish it. For assistance, please call 801-581-2169.

Preference Eligible Veterans and Service Members

Application Advice

  1. Only apply to positions for which you meet or exceed the listed minimum qualifications.
  2. Because the hiring process is very competitive, please be sure to complete the application and also attach a resume. This will help hiring managers learn more about you and your specific knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  3. Once an application is submitted, you have a one-time, per applicant exemption to make limited changes. Please call 801.581.2169 to discuss this option. Under no circumstances should you withdraw until calling this number.
  4. Please do not open multiple applicant accounts. Instead, please call 801.581.2169 for help in accessing your account information.
  5. The system will log you out after 1 hour of inactivity, providing you a 3 minute warning.

To Search and Apply for Jobs

To search and apply for jobs, click on the links found at the top of the Careers Home Page. Select the "Staff Jobs" button.

If you are a current employee, please see the instructions at the bottom of this page.

Homepage: Staff Jobs

Once on the "Search jobs" page, you will see the currently posted jobs in the type you selected. You may also search for other job types here by selecting an option from the "Position Type" field: Benefited Staff, Faculty, and Non-benefited Staff/Student jobs. You may also search by keywords, posting date, and patient care. To see all available jobs, make sure the word "Any" is displayed in all boxes except "Keyword." Then you may search through all available jobs by simply scrolling down the screen and clicking on the bold blue job title to view more information about a particular job.

We recommend printing or saving the job announcement to a personal drive for future reference. To apply for the job, click on the "apply to this job" link. You may either login, or if you have not yet registered to use the application website, you may "Create Account."

Current University of Utah employees:
Do not create a new account in the system. Your username is your uNID and your default password is your date of birth in MMDDYY format. We encourage you to change your password after logging in. If you are a University of Utah employee in need of an external account, please do not use your uNID as your username.

To apply to internal job postings, login to CIS, go to the "Employee Resources" section, and select "University of Utah and School of Medicine" under "Jobs."
